About this game

Reaction Time is the simplest game on Kioku Games and arguably the most addictive. The screen shows a red panel that says "Wait for green…" β€” and at a random moment between 1.5 and 5 seconds later, it flips to green. The instant it turns green, you tap. Your reaction time in milliseconds is recorded. After five trials the average is your final score.

Tap before the green appears and you fail that trial with a 500 ms penalty. Tap faster than 100 ms and the trial is rejected as a "Cheating?" anomaly β€” that is below the human auditory and visual reaction floor and almost always means you guessed. The remaining valid trials still count, so a single mistimed tap will not ruin your run.

What counts as a fast reaction time?

For visual stimuli, the typical adult reaction time falls between 200 and 270 ms. Trained athletes β€” sprinters, fighter pilots, top esports players β€” sit closer to 150–180 ms. The world record for a fully validated visual reaction time is around 100 ms; anything below that is considered impossible and almost certainly an anticipation rather than a genuine reaction. Children under ten and adults over sixty tend to be 30–60 ms slower than the working-age average.

Your score is computed as max(0, 1000 βˆ’ average ms). A 200 ms reaction averages to a score of 800; a 300 ms reaction scores 700; and slower than 1 second scores zero. Personal best is stored in your browser only; nothing is uploaded unless you opt in to the optional weekly leaderboard.
